What makes us different?
All our physicians are board certified in Gastroenterology, having accumulated at least six years of training after medical school. The gastroenterology training experience is far more intense than that undertaken by general surgeons, internists, or family practitioners who decide to add endoscopy to their practices and they are trained to interpret and treat the conditions they identify and uphold the safest level of endoscopy.
The physicians who make up Digestive Care Center have been trained all over the United States and this diversity allows our physicians quick access to multiple sources of expertise and enables them to have a dynamic collegial approach to problem cases and stimulated discussion.
The unique training that Gastroenterologists complete provides them with the ability to provide high quality, comprehensive care for patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal ailments. Gastroenterologists perform the bulk of research involving gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures as well as the interpretation of results, and are considered experts in the field. Studies have shown that Gastroenterologists perform higher quality colonoscopy examinations and comprehensive consultative services when compared to other physicians. This translates into more accurate detection of polyps and cancer by complications from procedures and fewer days in the hospital for many gastrointestinal conditions managed by trained gastroenterology specialists. Quality Care Ratings
It is our privilege to provide medical care to you and your family. Providing quality care to each of you based on your individual needs and desires is a responsibility we take very seriously. At the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center we monitor physician quality indicators such as polyp detection rates, withdrawal times and complications. We use these results to ensure a level of care that is better than national standard. Many hospitals do not monitor these results and have no oversight into the quality of their services.
We have implemented quality assurance and performance improvement programs in our Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center. As a patient, you need confidence that your physician will provide you with the best medical care and with these programs in place we are able to continually track our performance quality and ensure that we are doing just that. Our adenoma detection rate of pre-cancerous polyps during colonoscopy exceeds national benchmarks for both men and women, significantly reducing the number of cancers developing later in our patients. We consistently receive patient satisfaction ratings of 94 percent or higher in both our office and our Endoscopy Center.
